Have you ever wondered how professional chefs chop vegetables so quickly, neatly and consistently? Or wished you felt more confident every time you picked up a knife?
In this 3-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the fundamental knife skills every home cook should know, including proper knife handling, grip, cutting techniques, and how to safely use and care for a chef’s knife. You’ll practice professional cuts such as brunoise, julienne, batonnet, various dice, oblique cuts, and chiffonade, building the precision and confidence to tackle any recipe.
To put your new skills into practice, you’ll prepare a rich, flavourful vegetable stock and a fresh pico de gallo, two versatile recipes that showcase your knife work and will quickly become staples in your home kitchen.
Through out the workshop, we’ll share professional kitchen tips to help you improve your speed, accuracy and confidence every time you step into the kitchen. You’ll leave with a stronger understanding of one of the most important culinary skills, along with your own homemade stock and salsa to take home and use in future recipes.
