Would you like to learn how to preserve your seasonal produce all year round? Do you dream of eating your favorite fruit and vegetables in both summer and winter?
In this 3-hour workshop, we’ll cover the important points to explain the methods and processes of preserving. We’ll discover three different preserving techniques: using salt, sugar and vinegar. We’ll prepare a spiced apple jam, cherry tomatoes in brine and eggplant antipasti.
Nancy will show us how to cut and cook the food, sterilize the jars and assemble the preserves.
Everyone will go home with a jar of each of the three 100% homemade preparations. The jars are included in this workshop.
Skills required: none, this workshop is open to all enthusiasts!
The price includes all the necessary materials and kitchen equipment.
Please bring a large bag or insulated container to the workshop. The jars will be hot when you leave as part of the sealing process, so they can be difficult to carry safely without one.
Note : Participants will be invited to taste their creations at the end of the workshop, but no meals will be served during the workshop. Please plan to eat before the workshop or bring a snack with you!
Published booking admission: CAD $119 plus taxes. Booking and availability apply to each dated offering; any multi-session course fee covers its booked course.
