Join Virginia Van Vliet as we learn about intricate Victorian mourning customs. After the death of Prince Albert, Queen Victoria became known as “The Widow of Windsor”, setting the tone for elaborate mourning customs throughout the Empire. Come to learn about hair jewelry, mutes, crepe veils, zinc tombstones, tear bottles, postmortem photography and other elements of the Cult of Mourning.
