About this event
ConcertA new solo show by Jos Dirkx, directed by Reena Dutt, with music direction by Sacha Hoedemaker. Nine real-life stories, six original songs: starting in a classroom in Dakar with eleven kids from eleven countries, moving through Toronto, Helsinki, Juba and Athens, and arriving at a Dutch kitchen table where, at 39, Jos decides to step back on stage after all. A show about growing up between cultures, a voice that disappears and comes back, and love turning up when you least expect it. And what’s a refrigerator story? You’ll find out in the theatre.
The 2026 workshop performances will be the first time the complete show is performed for live audiences. In select venues, each performance is followed by a short conversation with the makers. The premiere will take place in 2027.
Location: The Living Room at Tranzac, 292 Brunswick Avenue, Toronto.
Friday, November 6, 2026, 8–9:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. The performance is approximately 85 minutes with no intermission. Performed in English; recommended for ages 14 and up. Tickets: $20.
