About this event

Kids & Family

This October, Niaflix invites folks to What Haunts Us, an evening of Black horror, folklore, the supernatural and the stories that linger long after the credits roll.

Experience horror through a Black lens, where fear meets history, identity, memory and survival. Come for the scares, stay for the stories, and experience something different from your usual movie night.

Niaflix: What Haunts Us will feature:

1. Moon Gazer: Yvano Antonio (Yvano Wickham-Edwards): A psychological horror exploring memory, trauma, and the lingering terrors of the past.

2. The Monster I Made: Julisa Marcel: A woman’s carefully maintained distractions disappear, forcing her to confront the monster created by her own denial.

3. Duppy: Andrew Hamilton: Drawing from Jamaican folklore, this horror explores diaspora, displacement, identity, and Little Jamaica.

4. A Family Affair: Shanice Bowrin: A horror-drama exploring family dysfunction, grief, and our need for connection.

5. Fresh Meat: Lu Afasha: A horror short that turns the exploitation of young writers into something much darker – literally… flesh eating.

It’s all happening at October 15th at 7:30 PM. 🎬🖤
