For 55 years, New Music Concerts has been one of Canada’s leading forces in contemporary music. Widely hailed as the first masterpiece of the 21st century, Georg Friedrich Haas’s in vain is one of the most admired works of our time. Performed by 24 of Toronto’s top professional musicians, this extraordinary piece transforms sound into a living, shifting landscape of microtonal colour. At its centre is a breathtaking 20-minute passage where the audience is plunged into total blackout.
Sensory Advisory : Please note that this performance utilizes strobe lighting effects.
