As part of ISHQ Festival, Small World Music presents Mehfil-e-Adab: Voices and Verses on Ishq in partnership with Anjuman-e-Adab, an intimate public mehfil centred on poetry, prose, storytelling and shared conversation.
Drawing from the South Asian tradition of the mehfil, the evening brings literature into a shared setting through readings and recitations in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, English and other South Asian languages.
Expect poetry and ghazals, prose, personal stories, reflections and moments of musical expression, with curated performances and opportunities to participate.
You do not need to be familiar with Urdu literature. Come to listen, discover and experience ishq through words, language and memory.
