About this event
Concert"For Marching Disorder's second residency date, we're very excited to have Don Kerr as our special guest! Come and sing along as Don leads us in some old and new protest songs!
Don Kerr is a Toronto musician who believes that powerful music with meaning can help move more people into collective action, demanding a much healthier, prosperous life for all people and the planet. We urgently need more people demanding changes in our power structures. Don’s band Communism plays lively dance music to inspire and invite the reluctant into action.
"Come join us in making joyful noise in support of collective liberation! From radical Yiddish vocal/klezmer tunes and Palestinian songs to global brass band repertoire and protest chants, each month we'll welcome guests from different activist music traditions to share & teach songs.
Hosted by Marching Disorder, a Toronto music-making collective rooted in traditions of radical brass bands and Jewish social justice activism, and co-presented with Rad Yiddish, which offers community-engaged Yiddish folk arts and culture programs through a queer, feminist, anti-racist, disability justice lens.
