Ever wanted to make your own clothes but felt like you needed to become a pattern-making expert first? What if your first handmade garment could be as simple as a few rectangles—and actually fit you perfectly?
In this 4-hour hands-on sewing workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own custom skirt from scratch. You’ll take your own measurements, create a simple construction plan, add seam allowances, cut your fabric directly to size and sew everything together using a sewing machine.
Along the way, you’ll learn the foundations of making your own clothing, including French seams, pleats, gathers, ruffles, tucks and basic waistband construction. We’ll also introduce some very basic pattern-drafting skills and show you how small changes can completely transform the look of your skirt.
Your skirt can be short or long, gathered or pleated, simple or full of little details. You’ll have plenty of room to customize it to your style and learn how to adapt the basic construction for future projects. And, obviously, it comes with pockets. Because what kind of skirt doesn’t?
Skills required: None! This workshop is designed as a perfect first garment for beginner sewists and anyone curious about making their own clothes.
The price includes all necessary materials, sewing equipment and lots of fun!
