Ever wanted to pick up a crochet hook but had no idea where to start? Curious how a simple strand of yarn can turn into so many different stitches and patterns?
In this 3-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of crochet while creating your own sampler. Starting with the basics, we’ll work through a variety of stitches and techniques that will give you a solid foundation for future crochet projects.
You’ll learn how to hold your hook and yarn comfortably, make a chain, and work single, half-double, double and treble crochet. We’ll then explore decorative stitches including puff, lattice, iris and mesh stitches, as well as how to work in rows and create simple colourwork designs.
We’ll also introduce you to the basics of reading both written and charted crochet patterns, along with filet crochet and changing colours. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a sampler showcasing the stitches you’ve learned and the skills to start exploring crochet projects on your own.
The price includes all necessary materials, crochet equipment and lots of fun!
Note: Your sampler will be approximately 8″ wide, with the length varying depending on your pace and the number of techniques you explore.
Published booking admission: CAD $99 plus taxes. Booking and availability apply to each dated offering; any multi-session course fee covers its booked course.
