A Hero’s Journey Home
Soar across space and time with Jordan, a young Cree boy who helps Indigenous children with the support of his faithful spirit bear, Maskwa. While his onstage journey is magical, the play is a vibrant tribute to a very real hero: Jordan River Anderson of Norway House Cree Nation, Manitoba.
The challenges young Jordan faced during his life became the heart of a national movement that led to the creation of Jordan’s Principle — a Canadian legal commitment ensuring equal healthcare for First Nations youth.
Join us for this empowering story that honours the fight for justice and equity for Indigenous communities.

Content Advisory
This is a play that recounts the story of Jordan River Anderson, an Indigenous child with complex medical needs who was unable to receive the healthcare that he desperately needed. It touches on sensitive topics such as illness, death, and mental health, told thoughtfully through his journey with his Spirit Bear, Maskwa.
On this journey, Jordan meets other Indigenous children facing similar physical and mental health crises who are struggling to access the necessary care. Teachers and families are encouraged to use the provided resource materials to support pre-show and post-show discussions.
