The Samara Centre for Democracy presents In Defence of Democracy with Carissa Véliz. Véliz’s keynote will speak to this moment by examining predictive AI and the future of politics in Canada. Her remarks will also offer a galvanizing call to action to reclaim our agency through practical solutions for policymakers and ordinary citizens alike. Véliz’s lecture will be followed by a conversation with renowned journalist and Samara Centre board member Lisa LaFlamme about how technology is influencing civic engagement and what steps we can take to protect our democratic resilience.
