Celebrate the movement, costuming and artistry of dance through music and choreography from well-known ballets in a demonstration by Teaching Artist Tanya Howard, a former First Soloist with The National Ballet of Canada. In this unique experience, participants will be invited to explore movement inspired by ballet and will also have the opportunity to discover costumes from The National Ballet of Canada and learn more about their role in bringing performances to life.
Before or after the program we encourage you check out A Legacy in Motion, a collaborative exhibition between TPL’s Special Collections and The National Ballet of Canada Archives. Featuring original costume designs, archival photographs, posters and stage-worn costumes.
Please note that a portion of this program does involve some movement (participation is voluntary). We do encourage you to wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
