Throughout the month of October, works by artist Sine Lam will be on display at the Forest Hill branch.
Sine Lam is an emerging artist currently based in Ontario. She studied Fine Art at St. Lawrence College. Her artistic practice blends symbolism, realism, and surrealism, drawing inspiration from human emotion, urban solitude, connection, memories, nature, and time.
Her series, Passage of Time, reflects her experiences of city life and explores themes of contrast and contradiction— visual beauty paired with melancholy, and relaxation alongside loneliness, much like life itself, where joy and sorrow coexist. Her work often carries hidden messages through symbolic elements.
Sine's work has been featured in various group exhibitions, including at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery.
This exhibit is part of TPL's Art Exhibit Space program. Toronto Public Library provides space for local artists to exhibit their work at locations across the city. These exhibits aim to reflect the diverse cultural interests of the city and its neighbourhoods.
