The co-authors of Anti-Asian Racism and the COVID-19 Pandemic in Canada join us for a timely and compelling examination of the surge in anti‑Asian racism during and after the pandemic. Drawing on historical analysis, empirical research and community perspectives, the speakers explore how long‑standing racial stereotypes were revived, the social and mental health impacts, and the ways Asian communities have responded through resistance and solidarity.
The event is presented with support of the York Centre for Asian Research and is part of the Sociology Lecture Series: Celebrating the Book.
