The West Asia Research Cluster invites you to a screening and discussion of 'Ameneh's Golden Blood', a documentary by Iranian filmmaker Dr. Habib Ahmadzadeh.
Featured prominently at international film events, this film follows Ameneh, a young girl from the coastal city of Bushehr, Iran, whose urgent need for an incredibly rare blood type sets off an international search coordinated by the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization, the Red Crescent, and various global relief agencies to save her life.
A discussion between Dr. Chaufan and Dr. Ahmadzadeh follows the screening, tracing the impacts of sanctions as they reach into hospitals, financial transactions and clinical decisions.
