Join us for a special screening of this new documentary based on the experiences of Keith Merith, retired York Region Police Superintendent. Q&A with Mr. Merith, Irina Volkova (award-winning director and producer) and Emmanuel Curate (principal actor), to follow.
A Black police officer navigates the harsh realities of law enforcement, battling systemic racism within the force while wrestling with his own moral code. As he works undercover to expose corruption and crime, he must confront the painful contradictions of being both a protector and a target in a world that refuses to see him as an equal. A Darker Shade of Blue can also be borrowed from the library and is available in several formats.
